Introduction

Hi! My name is Katrina Montales. I'm currently a sophomore at Wellesley College probably majoring in chemistry. I'm from Los Angeles, California but I was born in the Philippines. I've always thought that I'd love the colder weather here because I hated sweating all the time due to the heat. and I could just layer more clothes when I get cold. But because of last year's snow-zilla and never-ending winter, I don't think I'm cut out for the New England winters. I'll be dreaming of the 80 degree weather of Los Angeles for the next few months.

I'm taking ENGR 160 to gain experience on how to use various tools and to see if I enjoy engineering enough to want to pursue it after college. I'm really excited to learn how to make things. I've always enjoyed taking apart things to see how they work and figuring out how to put them all back together. I have always wanted to learn how to build a computer and a house from scratch. Recently I have gotten interested in how man-made fibers are created as well as home improvement and car maintenance and improvement. As you can probably tell, I tend to be more interested in the making and fixing of things. I'm hoping this class will nurture this interest of mine.
